Winter Floral

I wore this outfit to another performance of the show I stage managed this winter. Sadly, our run is over but it was amazingly successful and I'm so proud that I was a part of it. :) That being said, it will be nice not to drive 25 minutes there and back everyday. Got old real fast.

This dress is obviously a summer dress. It's even strapless. I just love how it fits and the floral pattern so I threw on some boots, sweater tights and a jacket and forced it to transition to winter. Sometimes I need reminders of summer during winter so I can remember that it will in fact become warmer....eventually.

That's all for today. I've gotta get to bed because classes start tomorrow for the spring semester...yay. Guess what else starts tomorrow?! My internship! That's right, I got an internship when I wasn't even looking for one for this semester. It kind of fell into my lap, and it couldn't be more up my alley. I'm interning with Luxury Garage Sale in Chicago in their photo department. If you don't know, they're a designer consignment company that sell people's designer things on ebay for them! Check out their website(HERE) if you want to see what's listed/find out more! I cannot wait to be around such amazing clothes/accessories and get some hands on experience in the fashion world! I can't help but be a little nervous since this is totally new to me and my first internship, but I know that it's going to be amazing. Wish me luck!

Bolts

So this outfit isn't anything all that innovative or exciting, but I just really like this necklace..and it was super nice out. :) I got this necklace in Milwaukee a while ago, but this is the first time I've worn it. I just couldn't figure out what to wear it with for some reason. And then I threw on this outfit without much thought(finals have drained my brain), and knew it needed something, so voila! Bolt necklace.

Speaking of finals, I'm done with this semester!!! IT'S SUMMER! Finally. Now I just have a week off until my summer classes start...greaaat. Oh well, anything's better than full time school right now ha.

Oh, and how nice is this location? It's right next to the Chicago Art Institute(you can see in the background of the picture below), and it suddenly got really pretty with spring. SO happy Chicago's no longer so gray :)

Color Blocking Brights

Finally gave color blocking a try today! I got these bright red-orange pants a couple weeks ago at H&M, but I've been waiting for the perfect spring day to wear them(it was 80 degrees today!). And this bag!! Royal blue suede messenger bag..on sale at Urban Outfitters for $30. How could I not?!.. Can you tell I was excited? haha.

I also did my makeup a bit different than usual today. Went for simple cateye eyeliner and that's about it. Didn't want to take away from my super bright outfit. I used the NYX Super Fat Eye Marker and I LOVE it. Today was the first time I used it, and it's so easy. I'm usually so bad at any kind of liquid eyeliner, but this is basically fool proof. I love that this look is natural but also a bit dramatic too :)

Bright Plaid in Grant Park

Hey guys! First off, sorry for the photo overload today. Alex took these for me again, and it turned into a full blown photoshoot all over Grant Park :) Onto the outfit..this skirt is actually a dress. I've seen so many bloggers transform dresses by just putting some kind of top over it. This dress was a little tricky because it's strapless, and it has big buttons going up the middle all the way to the top. I ended up putting a camisole underneath, and I added a scarf to cover up any weird looking fabric underneath.

Oh, and a quick tip for anyone visiting Chicago: If you're going to wear a skirt or dress, make sure you wear opaque tights underneath since the wind is crazy and unpredictable. These tights definitely saved me from a few free shows today! :)

Looking really awesome with my backpack haha.

Mint Shorts

By just looking at my outfit, it may seem like it was super warm when I wore this yesterday. Nope, I'm just pretending it is. Fake it til..spring makes it? Sure! Haha. This outfit is uncharacteristicly(woah long word) light for me. I've recently realized that I have hardly any white tops. This one is super old and from Hollister. That alone says how old it is hah. But after wearing this super old white top I now know that I do in fact love wearing white. Especially for this season. With the sun finally showing its face more often, dressing in lighter colors just adds to the springyness :) And I thought these mint colored shorts were a perfect little subtle pop of color for this outfit.

Oh, and about the flower, me and my roommate found three freshly cut flowers just laying on the sidewalk the other day. So we scooped them up, cut off the ends, gave them some water, and they came back to life! I never knew that I liked having fresh flowers, but I definitely do :)

Pastel Love

I was so excited to be able to wear a practically sleeveless shirt today that I went into full spring mode and added some pink pants and wedges. This outfit has so many of my favorite spring trends: denim(well..faux denim), colorful jeans, wedges, bright nail polish, feathers(earrings). I love it :) My roommate who takes all my outfit photos said this is her favorite one since she's been taking my photos so we decided to make the photo session a little more fun and went outside to my favorite alley. Yes, I have a favorite alley. As a photography major, good lighting is something I'm always looking for, and this alley right next to my building always has awesome lighting so I come back to it all the time.

I can't believe I'm moving out of Chicago in 2 weeks already! Although I love this city, I am excited to go back to Milwaukee. I've come to realize that, as excited as I was to live in the hustle and bustle of Chicago, living right in the middle of the city is just not as fun as I expected. More of a hassle most of the time actually. I'm just happy that I'll still be visiting this awesome city a couple days a week for classes. Best of both worlds for sure :)

Woah, my paleness has reached a new level this year. Yikes!

Coral & Converse

First off, hello to my new followers!! SO glad you decided to stop by my blog :) For those who don't know, I did a guest post on one of my best friends' Mary's blog. Check it out here if you want! Also, if you like your bloggers to be uplifting and adorable be sure to follow her. She even has a $100 shopbop giveaway that's still open for entries!

And now onto today's outfit. Can you tell it was really nice out? It finally felt like spring. It's about time!(even though it's going to be raining for the next 4 days..) I got these jeans at Filene's Basement yesterday. They're J Brand and they retail for $200 but they were $40 on sale..yes, $40! And they're a size smaller than I wear and they fit. CRAZY! Sorry..it was really exciting. Anyone else get way too excited about good shopping finds? I know I can't be alone here haha. I've been wanting some white denim for spring, so these were perfect. I also picked up some white denim shorts that you'll see on here when spring gets its butt in gear and the temperature goes up. Oh, and funny story about this blazer. I found it in my closet when I was home this past weekend and I'm pretty sure it's from the beginning of high school. So a good 6 years ago. It's more of a cropped blazer now, but I love the color for spring. Gotta love shopping in my own closet!

Two of my friends from my old school were visiting me this weekend and one of them quickly snapped these of me today as we made our way to the Museum of Science & Industry. Thanks Megan! :)
