Daily Uniform

This outfit wasn't anything particularly great, but I just got a remote for my camera so I just had to take outfit photos to try it out. It is SO much easier to take my outfit pictures by myself now so expect more posts :) This has been my daily uniform for the last few weeks. With school and my internship, it's quickest for me to just throw on some jeans, boots, a sweater, and some jewelry.

I've really been loving putting camel and turquoise together lately too. They compliment each other perfectly, and I have way too much turquoise jewelry so the combo is super easy for me.

Also, these boots. I got them at Target because they reminded me of the Steve Madden Banddit boots at about 1/5 of the price. Obviously the quality's not amazing and I'd still love to own the Steve Maddens, but I've been wearing them constantly. They're super comfortable, and since they're not real leather/only $40, I can walk right through the snow without a care.

PS - Ignore my camera in the mirror in some of the photos. That's what happens when you have an assortment of giant mirrors in your living room. Also, our mini Christmas tree has since been taken down :)

Opening Night

I'm pretty sure I've never talked about this on my blog, but before I went to school for photography, I was looking into going for stage management(in theater, specifically). As in, I went to NYC and Chicago to look at school and everything...and then changed my mind, ha. Sorry parents! Why am I telling you this? Because I still stage manage two shows a year with a local theater, and I'm in the midst of our winter show performances. We're doing Avenue Q, and it's one our most successful shows we've ever done which is SO exciting. I've been working with this theater for about 5 years so having a really successful season is just really exciting for all of us :) If you know the show, you know how horribly hilarious the show is, and I'm still not sick of it..which is rare at this point. Anyways! This is what I wore to our first performance last Friday. I always dress up for shows since I'm running all over the place and like to look nice, but I particularly liked this outfit.

I got these Topshop ambush boots for Christmas that pretty much every blogger but me has, and I'm so in love with them(and forgot to take the sticker off the bottom...whoops). They're so comfortable and go with absolutely everything. I'm also debuting my new La Mer watch(Christmas present) and my new tattoo! My dad has an infinity symbol tattoo with my family's initials in it, so that's why I got it. :)

Fall Overload

I really went all out on the fall colors for this outfit. I knew I wanted to wear this new blazer/jacket from H&M but it was kind of cold so I added the scarf and thermal underneath and voila! Fall overload!

Admittedly this was a few weeks ago. I just moved in with Mary a few weeks ago and I'm still getting everything put in its place so I haven't really been on top of my fashion game. My next post is going to be something fun that me and Mary did together, so stay tuned for that! :)

Sheer Love

For some reason, these leggings get a lot of looks every time I wear them. It's not exactly normal to have (faux) leather paneling on leggings, but are they really that different?? I'm always so surprised at just how many people stare at these things! Whether they're staring because they love them or hate them, I love these leggings so much. They're just a great way to spice up any simple outfit.

I think this top is now my third or fourth sheer button up top. They're so easy to throw on for a warmer fall day. And I told you I couldn't stop wearing these boots. They go with everything. Can't stop, won't stop.

Also, thanks to my mom who took these in the middle of making dinner because the sun was going down super fast. Thanks mom!

Grunge Inspired

This outfit is much more casual/disheveled that I normally post, but that's kind of why I wanted to post it. I don't know why, but I've always loved the whole grunge look. Maybe it's going to an art school of 95% hipsters or maybe it's my inner rocker wanting to come out, but every once I feel the need to let my style get a bit edgy. I kept it semi-feminine with the color and jewelry, but otherwise kept my ensemble all black in typical rocker fashion.

I also tend to stray away from posting outfits where my hair is up because I tend to look bald, but I did some profile shots to show you that I do indeed have hair back there, haha. And I'm wearing my glasses for once. Pretty rare because I hate not being able to wear sunglasses, but I do love my glasses.

Oh, and I took these photos in the little studio set up I have in my house for senior pictures I shoot and whatnot. I couldn't avoid getting the bottom of my fancy backdrop(aka sheet nailed to the wall..) in the full body shots but that's okay. :)

Nashville Outfit #3!

My last outfit from Nashville! Another hot day, hence the tank top. Boy, am I missing this weather right now. This has to be the most stubborn spring ever. This week is actually in the 50s...and that's really exciting so that's definitely saying something haha. And, weather rant over. Anyways, I have a love hate relationship with this tank top. It's really my fault, because it's a bit big because I got a medium thinking it would be cute and baggy but it's just wide and boxy(woah, run on sentence much?). Fail on my part. But I love the design and that it says "We are alive". So I belted it with this awesome red belt from H&M(which is also a bit big and I had to make an extra hole).

Natural Nautical

I don't wear nautical colors/inspired outfits very often, but I thought I'd try it out in my own way when I pulled this cardigan out of my drawer this morning. To make it more me, I added a cognac belt and boots with some muted olive legging pants. This color palette is something that's definitely out of the norm for me, so it was interesting to see how different something as simple as color can make me look and feel. Changing it up can be fun, even if it's a little harder to put the outfit together :)
