Pastel Love

I was so excited to be able to wear a practically sleeveless shirt today that I went into full spring mode and added some pink pants and wedges. This outfit has so many of my favorite spring trends: denim(well..faux denim), colorful jeans, wedges, bright nail polish, feathers(earrings). I love it :) My roommate who takes all my outfit photos said this is her favorite one since she's been taking my photos so we decided to make the photo session a little more fun and went outside to my favorite alley. Yes, I have a favorite alley. As a photography major, good lighting is something I'm always looking for, and this alley right next to my building always has awesome lighting so I come back to it all the time.

I can't believe I'm moving out of Chicago in 2 weeks already! Although I love this city, I am excited to go back to Milwaukee. I've come to realize that, as excited as I was to live in the hustle and bustle of Chicago, living right in the middle of the city is just not as fun as I expected. More of a hassle most of the time actually. I'm just happy that I'll still be visiting this awesome city a couple days a week for classes. Best of both worlds for sure :)

Woah, my paleness has reached a new level this year. Yikes!

Simple Saturday

Unless I'm going somewhere special, I tend to dress pretty simply on the weekends. So today I just threw together some basics, added a necklace for a little pop and called it a day. Also, since last post I was complaining about the weather, I must say that today was a beautiful 60 degree sunny day. Thanks mother nature! :) All I really did today was go take a super long walk to shoot some film for my photo final(due in 2 weeks..eek when did that happen?!), and now I'm off to a hotdog place in Lincoln Park with my roommate for dinner.

Hope you're having a fun carefree weekend!

Spring = Sweaters..?

So, I know that pretty much every single blog in the midwest is complaining about the weather right now..but...ughhhh this weather is so bad. I'm wearing a sweater today(and had to wear a jacket & scarf over it)..it's almost MAY!..Okay, I'm good. :)

But yeah, pretty winter-y outfit today. I've worn this outfit before and I didn't have much time to pick an outfit this morning so I went for something that I knew would work.

Also, a few questions for you guys. Would you like to see any makeup or hair product related posts? Or clothing hauls? I've recently bought a bunch of fun new spring basics, and if any of you are interested in seeing what I got, I can definitely make a post about it! Oh, and I've started using Disqus for my comments. I always love when other bloggers have Disqus because it's so easy to reply to people/comment in general so I thought I'd add it to mine too.

And now a reallly embarrassing but strangely impressive picture of how much I can frown..(I always get at least one picture with a SUPER unflattering face in it. Maybe I should stop making weird faces? haha)

Coral & Converse

First off, hello to my new followers!! SO glad you decided to stop by my blog :) For those who don't know, I did a guest post on one of my best friends' Mary's blog. Check it out here if you want! Also, if you like your bloggers to be uplifting and adorable be sure to follow her. She even has a $100 shopbop giveaway that's still open for entries!

And now onto today's outfit. Can you tell it was really nice out? It finally felt like spring. It's about time!(even though it's going to be raining for the next 4 days..) I got these jeans at Filene's Basement yesterday. They're J Brand and they retail for $200 but they were $40 on sale..yes, $40! And they're a size smaller than I wear and they fit. CRAZY! Sorry..it was really exciting. Anyone else get way too excited about good shopping finds? I know I can't be alone here haha. I've been wanting some white denim for spring, so these were perfect. I also picked up some white denim shorts that you'll see on here when spring gets its butt in gear and the temperature goes up. Oh, and funny story about this blazer. I found it in my closet when I was home this past weekend and I'm pretty sure it's from the beginning of high school. So a good 6 years ago. It's more of a cropped blazer now, but I love the color for spring. Gotta love shopping in my own closet!

Two of my friends from my old school were visiting me this weekend and one of them quickly snapped these of me today as we made our way to the Museum of Science & Industry. Thanks Megan! :)

Equestrian Denim

Hi guys! I'm so happy I got to take some photos outside today. My friend Alex who's also a photography major took these for me today :) Check out his photo blog here. Thanks Alex! I got these riding pants/leggings from Zara a long time ago, and this the first time I've worn them. Shame on me! They're really comfortable and warm, but for some reason I found it kind of difficult to figure out what to pair them with. What would you wear with them? Also, you can see in the 2nd picture after this text that my sleeve button thingy is unbuttoned. I love this denim shirt but the buttons come undone ALL the time. Might have to sew up the holes a tiny bit or something.

Rainy Days

Today's outfit was all about staying dry, comfy, and warm. You'd think it was winter with this weather! 30s, rainy, and windy..no thank you. I made an attempt at adding color with my scarf/lips, but this is still definitely a rainy day outfit. Short & sweet post today, I'm literally falling asleep right now..and it's 7:45pm. Dreary day-1 Me-0.
I really hate using flash but this outfit was so dark that I had to for at least one so you could actually see it! Sorry if you're blinded by my paleness ;)

Casual Blazer

My first outfit post with my new hair! I've had a lot of people tell me it makes me look older which is definitely a plus. Before I cut it, I was so nervous it was going to make me look younger. Phew! It seems my 'older' look is already rubbing off on my style considering I wore a blazer today. I hardly ever wear blazers, despite owning 3 of them. They always had this kind of dressy vibe that I shied away from for some reason, but I went for it today and dressed it down. I ended up really loving the put together casual look.
Also, I think this is only the second time I've worm my glasses in a post. As I went to put my contacts in this morning, I realized the glasses actually looked really good with the rest of my outfit(and it wasn't too sunny out today) so I opted for the glasses. I really do love my glasses, I should wear them more often.

Red Leopard

So I'm not going to lie, I really love this outfit. I feel like it's very..fashion blog-y..? Does that make any sense? Well, it does in my head haha. I got this leopard belt at H&M the other day and I'm pretty much in love with it. I've been wanting one for a while, and this one was only about $5 and has a bit of a pony hair texture so it looks way more expensive. These are some new jeans I got from H&M the same day. I didn't have any black skinny jeans(except for a pair with tons of rips), so I had to pick some up :)
Also, I got about 6 inches cut off my hair the day after I wore this outfit. There's a picture at the end of the post!

Satin & Cowboy Boots

For some reason, I hardly ever wear leggings..even though I have probably over 20 pairs and I love how they make my legs look. Obviously, my jean habit is really hard to break, but I love when I do something different. I forgot how comfy leggings are too! I've been missing out big time.

This is probably one of the simplest possible outfits. Leggings, tank, long button-up shirt, boots, good-to-go! I've had this shirt for a longgg time, and it was still hanging out in my closet with the tag on it. I don't know why I do that sometimes, but it happens way too often. I love how easy this shirt is. I was going to belt it out of habit, but I decided to just let it hang instead for less adjusting & a super simple look. Sidenote: I know that in the last picture my shirt looks like an oil slick with all the colors reflecting off it. Unfortunately, it's just a muted navy with the giant unmovable red building across the street reflected in it(which also makes my hair look super red).

Ha, told you I always have makeup on my hand. That's the Revlon Just Bitten lip stain in Passion I'm wearing :)
